Where Did I Put It — Last updated: June 7, 2026
Where Did I Put It helps you remember where you placed important things. The information you enter — item names, places, notes, categories, and photos — is stored only on your device using local storage. It is not uploaded to our servers, and there is no account to create.
When you attach a photo, the app copies it into its own private storage on your device so it remains available. Photos never leave your device through this app. Camera and photo library access are used only to let you attach a photo to an item.
Item names, places, notes, categories, and photos stay on your device. You can edit or delete this information at any time in the app, including a "Clear all data" option in Settings. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data (such as screen views) to help improve the app. This data is not linked to the information you enter and does not identify you.
The app displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers to deliver and measure ads, in accordance with Google's privacy policy. On iOS, we request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency before any tracking. An optional one-time in-app purchase removes ads.
We use Sentry to collect anonymous crash and diagnostic information (device model and OS version) to fix problems. No personal information is included.
You can export your data as a JSON file using the share feature. When you do this, you choose where the file is sent. We do not receive a copy.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. All content is entered by the user and stored locally.
