Waypoint (“the app”, “we”) is a habit tracker that plots every day you show up as a waypoint on your trail. We respect your privacy. Waypoint has no user accounts and no app server — your habits, daily waypoints, streaks, and settings are stored only on your device. This policy explains the limited data processed by third-party services the app uses.
Data we process
- On-device data: your habits, daily completion records, streaks, and app settings are kept locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.
- Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): aggregated, non-identifying usage and event data to understand how features are used and improve the app.
- Crash & error reporting (Sentry): diagnostic information when the app crashes or hits an error, used solely to fix bugs.
- Advertising (Google AdMob): the app may show banner and interstitial ads. On iOS this only occurs with your permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, advertising tracking is not used.
How data is used
Data is used only to operate and improve Waypoint — to run the app on your device, measure usage in aggregate, diagnose crashes, and show advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Children
Waypoint is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-party providers
For details on how these providers handle data, see Google (Firebase & AdMob) and Sentry privacy policies.
Your choices
- Decline ad tracking via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, or reset your advertising identifier in system settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes all on-device data.
