Tracepedia is a reference app containing three encyclopedias — wild animals, birds and the constellations. You browse entries, compare them, take quizzes and keep notes. Everything you create stays on your device. There is no account to make and nothing is uploaded.
Your notes, quiz results, collection progress and settings are stored only on your device. Tracepedia has no account system and no server of its own. Deleting the app deletes this data.
The home screen shows a photo for the entry of the day. Tracepedia asks Wikipedia's public API for that image, which means Wikipedia receives the request (including your IP address, as with any web request). No information about you is sent, and the rest of the app — all entry text — works without a connection.
We use Firebase Analytics for anonymized usage data (such as which screens are opened) and Sentry for crash reports, so we can fix problems. Neither receives your notes, and neither identifies you.
This version of Tracepedia does not show ads and does not initialize any advertising SDK. If ads are introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and on iOS you will be asked for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency before any tracking takes place.
Tracepedia offers an optional in-app purchase that unlocks the full content. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Tracepedia can send you an optional daily reminder. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings, and it is off until you allow it.
Tracepedia is suitable for all ages and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
