DinnerWhirl ("the app", "we") is a dinner picker that spins to decide tonight's meal. We respect your privacy. The app has no user accounts and no app server — your entries and settings are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Data we process
- On-device data: everything you enter — your entries, history and preferences — is kept locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): aggregated, non-identifying usage and event data, to understand which features are used.
- Crash & error reporting (Sentry): diagnostic information when the app crashes or hits an error, used solely to fix bugs.
- Advertising (Google AdMob): AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to serve ads. On iOS this only happens with your permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, advertising tracking is not used.
- In-app purchases: processed by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment details.
How data is used
Data is used only to operate and improve DinnerWhirl — to measure usage in aggregate and diagnose crashes, and to show advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Children
DinnerWhirl is designed for general audiences (13+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Third-party providers
For details on how these providers handle data, see the Google (Firebase & AdMob) and Sentry privacy policies. Apple and Google handle in-app purchases under their own terms.
Your choices
- Decline ad tracking at the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, or reset your advertising identifier in system settings.
- Purchase the premium upgrade to remove advertising.
- Uninstalling the app removes all data held on the device.
Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
